why should i purchase a csa?

Community Supported Agriculture is a relationship between the farmer and our community. CSA members make a pledge to support our farm, and as farmers we make a pledge to provide you with the food we grow. Our farm and our CSA members become partners for a season, supporting one another in reciprocity, mutually benefiting from the power of local food.

what can i expect to see in my box?

Items you may see in your box can include any assortment of the following:

All of our products are Certified Organic and grown on our Farm.

HOW MUCH FOOD COMES IN EACH BOX?

We put together a box of fresh organic vegetables & goat cheeses, usually 8 or more items per box, every week.

Weekly boxes support a 2 - 4 person household.

  • Spinach / 10 oz bag

  • Curly Kale / 1 bunch

  • Parsley / 1 bunch

  • Garlic / 1 head

  • Heirloom Tomato/ 1#

  • Carrots/ 1 bunch

  • Potatoes/2#

  • Red Radish/ 1 bunch

Goat Cheese Add On:

  • Roasted Garlic and Chive Chevre

CSA SHare cost $575 (a savings of $90-$100)

When & how long is the subscription?

Our Summer CSA program runs for 18 consecutive weeks. Boxes will be ready for pick up every Wednesday from May 29th - September 25th.

Emails will be sent every Tuesday with reminders and to let you know what will be included in your box that week. We will also share recipes and updates on the farm.

WHEN & Where WILL MY BOX BE READY?

You must pick up your box at either the Belgrade or Bozeman pick up locations.

Please choose one location to pick up for the full 18 weeks.

Make sure you are able to pick up your box Wednesday during the pick up hours.

There will be a total of 5 options this season for pick up

Each location has a limited number of availability. Once a location is sold out, please choose the next best location. There are different hours for pick up for each location. Please note the hours and days of pick up!

On Farm & U-Pick - Belgrade (on Penwell Bridge Road)

Wednesday from 3 PM - 7 PM

We will be breaking out a new field for U-Pick this year which will include: strawberries, flowers & a pumpkin patch.

We highly recommend our on farm & pack shed pick up locations!

FAQ

  • Why do you recommend your Belgrade pick up locations?

    • We highly recommend our Belgrade pack shed pick up because we have a cooler on site. If you choose on farm pick up, you will have the added benefit of already being on farm to harvest and purchase u-pick strawberries & flowers from 3 PM - 7 PM every Wednesday starting in July!

  • Can I add Goat Cheese to my CSA?

    • Yes! We are offering 4oz and 8oz goat cheese add-ons to our Vegetable CSA this year! We will have a cooler at each pickup location and those choosing to add goat cheese to their CSA can grab their weekly goat cheese. Goat cheese will only be for add-on subscribers and will feature a different cheese every week as well as flavors not available to the general public!

  • Can I come harvest from the U-Pick field even if I choose a different pick up location?

    • YES! U-Pick will be open to the public every Wednesday from 5-8 PM and Sunday 9am-Noon starting in June! U-pick pricing TBD.

  • What do I do with my reusable bin each week?

    • Please bring a reusable bag with you for pick up! Empty the contents of the box into your bag and stack the bins for us to grab, wash out and refill each week. We would like to avoid the use of single use plastics as much as we can by reusing/washing our containers instead. These containers will hold moisture in so that your veggies get to you looking great! Please do not take the bin home with you.

  • Do we do Home Delivery?

    • No. We believe Community Supported Agriculture is a partnership between our pickup locations or visiting the farm/packshed and we encourage you to patronize our gracious CSA host locations. We have partnered with them because they are local food advocates!

  • Do you have half shares?

    • No. We will only be providing whole shares, as we are just starting out, we need to streamline our processes. Please consider splitting the price/contents of your box with a friend, co-worker or neighbor if you are concerned that the boxes will be too much food for you!

  • I will be taking vacation this summer. Can I get my box a different week?

    • If you will miss a pick up do to vacation we highly recommend asking a friend to pick up your share that week! If you’d like your box the following week, please let us know beforehand so we can put your box aside to be picked up when you get back from vacation - boxes will be at our packshed in Belgrade.

  • What happens to my box if I miss the pickup time?

    • Boxes that are not picked up will be either donated to the food bank or given away to the employees at the pick up locations. Please make sure to pick up your boxes during the pick up hours! We have done our best to find locations with late pick up hours to accommodate after work pick ups.

  • Can I change where I pick up my box?

    • No. Please choose wisely when selecting your pick up location. Each location has a set amount of boxes that will fit and have been agreed upon between us and the pick up locations.

  • Can I get a refund?

    • No. All sales are final. By signing up for a CSA you are agreeing to support your local farmer and we in turn agree to give you a share of what we produce this season. Weather in Montana can be severe and our seasons are short. Please keep this in mind. We will be doing everything we can to give you a wide variety of beautiful and nutritious foods but earlier shares may be heavy on the greens until we hit the summer stride. Also we have planned to grow a certain amount of food to fill the sold shares and will not have an opportunity to sell shares after the fact. For these reasons all sales are final.
