Weekend Goat caretaker & Milker

Amaltheia Organic Dairy is in need of a reliable, detail oriented person to join the crew!

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE FOR

Saturday and Sunday Morning Shift 6:30am-11:30am

Saturday and Sunday Afternoon Milking Shift 2:30pm-7:30pm

This job is physical, you must be able to lift 50 pounds easily and comfortably.

Daily duties:

helping with kidding season, feeding goats, checking waters for all animals and filling when necessary, feeding pigs and chickens, fence/barn maintenance, animal care, and goat milking groups of 14 using an automated milk machine. We have a total of about 220 goats (about 15 groups).

Job is mostly working outside in all weather conditions with some time spent in barns. 
Animal experience and safe/cautious machinery operation a plus! Long term potential also a plus.

Pay starts at $17/hr+ with experience with quick raises for the right person!

Experience not required, but we do prefer applicants:

Be patient with animals and equipment, have the ability to work well unsupervised, pay attention to detail, must have reliable transportation, and be present at work while working and focused on the care of the animals and farm property. Skid steer experience helpful, but not required. Must like animals, specifically goats, pigs and chickens.
