Company Description

Amaltheia Organic Dairy is a family run farm located just outside of Bozeman, Montana in the foothills of the Bridger Mountains. We are a certified organic farm that has been handcrafting award winning goat cheeses for over 20 years. We utilize all of our by-products and raise organic whey fed pigs as well as grow a wide variety of vegetables.

Amaltheia Organic Dairy’s cheese facility is located in Belgrade, MT. In this facility, we pasteurize milk and make a variety of organic cheeses. The jobs start with picking up milk at the farm with our truck twice weekly. We pasteurize the milk and make the cheese. The cheese is packaged and sent out via trucks, cars, or mailed to customers. 

Cheesemaker requirements include:

  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes and HACCP helpful

  • Must be punctual, reliable and ready to work hard

  • Able to lift 60+ pounds

  • Able to take and follow directions and instructions

  • Able to follow step by step directions for all processes

  • Ability to do math to calculate culture, rennet, etc.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time 

  • Must have a vehicle and drivers license

CHEESEMAKER responsibilities include:

  • Milk Hauler

  • Testing and recording batches

  • Pasteurization

  • Bagging Cheese

  • Cleaning of truck and equipment

  • Cleaning of equipment continually throughout the day

  • Mixing and boxing cheese

  • Mixing flavors into cheeses

  • Running equipment to package cheese

  • Packaging of cheese

  • Prepping cheese boxes for shipping

  • Invoicing and QuickBooks work

Schedule

Monday through Friday

8:30 am - 4 or 5 pm

Compensation

Starting at $18.00/hr. with raise after six weeks of good work.

Paid lunches and breaks. Employees will receive a weekly CSA which includes cheese and vegetables.
